Online Counseling
Having been a missionary, myself, who counseled other missionaries, I know how lonely, discouraging, and difficult it can be living in the field. Seeking the counsel of a professional not only can increase your productivity and better your relationships but it can also free you up to live in the freedom of who you are and what you've been called to do.
Life as an Expat is full of adventure, mystery and experiences that you might never have dreamed you'd go through. At times, though, living overseas can be riddled with difficulties, sadness, and unrealistic expectations. Those who have lived overseas often report experiencing purposelessness, anger, depression, pornography usage, team conflict among others.
One of the top reasons for missionaries and NGO workers leaving the field is due to lack of support either from their sending agency or their team on the ground. My goal in working with missionaries and NGO workers is the same as it was when I lived in Nairobi--to process through the emotions, events, and traumatic experiences in an effort to to help you rediscover joy, purpose, and meaning in fulfilling your duties overseas.
Having been a missionary, myself, I completely understand the financial piece surrounding mental health counseling. Don't let that stand in the way of you asking for help. I'd love to talk with you and address your concerns, directly.
